Bialetti Moka Pot (3tz)
Regular price €35,00The Moka Express is the iconic stove top coffee maker made by Bialetti in the 1930s. Named after the Yemeni city of Mocha, this coffee pot is almost 100 hundred years old and still has the original eight sided art deco design.
The coffee pot consists of a top sealed tank, a filter for the coffee and a bottom tank that holds the water. When placed on the stove, the water heats up and generates steam. This increases the pressure in the bottom chamber, pushes the water up through the coffee granules and into the top chamber where it is ready to be poured.
Despite being known as stovetop espresso makers, moka pots do not make true espresso. They create more pressure than a human can generate manually but nothing like a real espresso machine. But the end result is a very concentrated coffee that’s not too unlike an espresso.
The Moka Express 3tz model is used to brew 3 cups of espresso at a time. The total capacity is 150ml. The coffee pot is suitable for gas or electric hobs. It is not suitable for induction hobs. The coffee pot should be washed by hand, without any detergents. It is not dishwasher safe.
