WHAT WE SAY.

We’re delighted to have been included amongst the Top 10 Coffee Shops in Ireland again this year.

Awards are lovely, of course, but what makes us happiest is the fact that we’re still doing what we set out to do when we opened our first shop on Bray Main Street in 2018: serve really good coffee and create spaces where people feel welcome.

Copper + Straw is an independent Irish business. What started as a single shop has grown to four locations and a production kitchen, but we’re still a relatively small team and we still approach coffee with the same curiosity and care we had on day one.

Coffee is something we take seriously, but hopefully never too seriously. We spend a lot of time tasting and dialling in coffees, checking quality and training our teams. We rotate coffees throughout the year and regularly bring in guest roasters from all over the world because we love introducing people to different styles and approaches. The coffee world never stands still and neither do we. We’re always learning and always trying to get a little better.

But great coffee is only part of what matters to us. We’ve always believed that coffee shops should be part of the communities they serve. Over the years we've had the privilege of becoming part of communities in Bray, Dublin city centre and Palmerston Park. We support local initiatives, provide work experience opportunities, host events and try, in whatever small ways we can, to make our shops places that people enjoy spending time in.

As we've grown, we've started making more and more of our own food. From sandwiches and breakfast pots to cakes and cookies, much of what you find in our shops is made by our own team in our production kitchen. Having that space has given us greater control over quality and allows us to put the same care and attention into our food as we do into our coffee.

There are some incredible coffee shops in Ireland and we're proud to be part of such a vibrant coffee scene. To be recognised amongst them again means a lot.

Most of all, thank you to our team, who put so much care into what they do every day, and to everyone who chooses to support an independent Irish business. We know there are lots of places you could buy your coffee, and we never take that support for granted..
